Bugsy's Dog Run-Queens
This is a small independently operated dog run located in Astoria, Queens in Astoria Park. It is not associated with NY Parks. It is a single section dog run located right along the East River. While it does have some of the most incredible views of any dog park we have been to in the city so far, it isn't the most up to date dog run. It only has a single gate, so if entering while other dogs are in the park, be sure to be extra careful so no one escapes. There are also fences along the river side that are pretty rundown and could be pretty easy for larger dogs to jump over and get out. While you do get the awesome view of the RFK bridge and Manhattan Skyline, Bugsy's Dog Run isn't the best park to go to, especially when the Triborough Bridge Playground C Dog Run isn't too far away. It has a natural surface, decent amount of natural shade, but no seating, water fountains, or any frills.
In my research, I did find a restoration project that has been put together in attempts to restore this dog park into something a big nicer.
We give this park 2/4 paws because it could definitely use some work.
