Cobble Hill Dog Park-Brooklyn

Cobble Hill Dog Park is a dog park that is 100% community-maintained and not officially associated with NYC Parks, so it’s missing some of the amenities you might find in more modern dog runs. That said, you can tell the local community really puts in the effort to keep it clean and welcoming.

The park itself is spacious with plenty of seating, natural shade from surrounding trees and a natural dirt surface. There’s a bucket of toys for dogs to play with, water bowls, and poop scoopers available, which was a nice touch. We appreciated the open space, which is great for running and playing fetch.

However, there are a few quirks. The entrance only has a single gate that doesn’t close very securely, so you need to be careful when coming in or out, especially with small dogs. It’s also located right across from a busy road that doesn’t have a crosswalk or traffic light, which can make getting there feel a bit unsafe.

Overall, it’s a nice use of space and a great example of a community coming together to maintain a dog run, but it could definitely use some safety improvements. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a visit, but we wouldn’t necessarily go out of the way for this one.

We give this spot 2/4 paws as it wasn’t the best dog run but it was trying.
