Governor's Island Winter Dog Days
Did you know that Governor's Island is dog friendly in the winter? From December 1 through April 30, 2024 (check the website once the 2025 dates are posted), every day of the week after 10am, dogs are allowed to enjoy the island! As long as you get on the ferry before 12:00pm, dogs can take a free ride to the ferry. Dogs must remain on the lower deck of the ferry. They can return on any ferry back, but must arrive before 12pm. There is an off-leash dog park on the island that has been expanded since 2023, where dogs can run around too. It is the perfect place for some easy hikes around with some beautiful views in the winter and early spring, and an overall peaceful time!
