Roosevelt Island-Manhattan
We had a full dog friendly adventure in Roosevelt Island! Here is the itinerary!
We started the day by taking the Roosevelt Island Tram from 60th st & 2nd Ave over to the island. The trams costs the same as a subway swipe and if you’ve never taken one, we highly recommend it, as it’s a truly unique experience. Their site says dogs are allowed in bags, same rules as a subway, but we ended up carrying Benji on and it was just fine.

For an amazing pet photographer, we recommend See Spot Studio! It was an amazing experience and we are so happy with the final images! Alexis the photographer is so patient with the dogs, and really takes the time to make sure they are comfortable first.
Culture Lab LIC-Queens
Are you looking to add a little culture to your dogs life? Bring them to an art gallery! Culture Lab in Long Island City, Queens is a fully dog friendly art gallery with several rooms of exhibits. In the summer their large front parking lot area also hosts plenty of events from music to performances!
Sniff N Seek-Manhattan
There is a brand new dog training facility in the Upper East Side called Sniff N Seek! There you can take classes to learn barn hunting for dogs run by the awesome and passionate trainer, Jenny! Sniff N Seek is an amazing opportunity for dogs to let their instincts come out! The intro class starts out by getting your dog accustomed to the ring. They all have to wear little dog diapers to keep them from peeing on the straw bales.
Museum of Illusions-Manhattan
Looking for a really cool and unique dog friendly activity? Try the Museum of Illusions! Dogs are welcome inside all year round! It has so many fun illusions to get some great photos. We had a lot of fun here and definitely recommend this place for a day out with your pup!

Dyker Heights Christmas Lights-Brooklyn
If you're looking for a fun dog friendly adventure this Christmas season, go check out the Dyker Heights Christmas lights! This neighborhood is South Brooklyn goes all out decorating their homes for Christmas and you and your dog can walk through the streets and admire all of the lights. It can get a little crowded at times to make sure to show up early in the evening right after sunset for the fewest crowds to make it easier to walk your dog through.
Governor's Island Winter Dog Days
Did you know that Governor's Island is dog friendly in the winter? From December 1 through April 30, 2024 (check the website once the 2025 dates are posted), every day of the week after 10am, dogs are allowed to enjoy the island! As long as you get on the ferry before 12:00pm, dogs can take a free ride to the ferry. Dogs must remain on the lower deck of the ferry. They can return on any ferry back, but must arrive before 12pm.
