Jemmy's Dog Run-Manhattan
Jemmy’s Dog Run is a dog run in Madison Square Park that was newly renovated as of August 2022 and has grown in popularity since then! The park is named after James "Jemmy" Madison and Madison Square Park claims that The Village Voice named the park as the #1 dog run in NYC (but I scoured the internet and couldn't find this article?). It has two sections for large dogs and small dogs and has a river of water flowing between the two parks. On both sides there are large hills for the dogs to run on and the park is astroturf and pavement. The river between is an awesome unique feature because it allows dogs to drink the water and lay in the river to cool off. It does run from the large side to the small size though and sometimes the large dogs dam up the river by lying in it. They have some awesome amenities like plenty of shaded seating, poop bags, and a clean up station. Overall it is a gorgeous park renovation and definitely one of the nicest dog runs in Manhattan! Check this park out if you’re in the area!
We give this park 3.5 paws because it is beautifully done but a bit small and crowded.
