The Owl Farm-Brooklyn
The Owl Farm is a cute little bar in Park Slope Brooklyn. While we were allowed indoors with Benji, upon doing research for this post, their website has a no-dog policy listed. So we would put this is a dog-maybe spot with a possibility of getting turned away.
Vig Bar-Manhattan
The Vig Bar is a cool dog friendly spot in Soho/Nolita, Manhattan. They were happy to allow Benji inside on a slow night and even to the back to watch one of their free comedy shows that are every Sunday Night!
Bugsy's Dog Run-Queens
This is a small independently operated dog run located in Astoria, Queens in Astoria Park. It is not associated with NY Parks. It is a single section dog run located right along the East River. While it does have some of the most incredible views of any dog park we have been to in the city so far, it isn't the most up to date dog run. It only has a single gate, so if entering while other dogs are in the park, be sure to be extra careful so no one escapes.
Wild East Brewing-Brooklyn
A great little dog friendly brewery in Gowanus, Brooklyn, Wild East Brewing specializes in European brewing styles. They brought a dog bowl out for Benji to enjoy some water while we enjoyed a brew. It has a great variety of beer options on tap and is very dog friendly.
Little Athens-Brooklyn
Little Athens is a great little Greek restaurant in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. They allowed Benji fully indoors as long as he sat on the floor by our table. Their food is fantastic and the customer service was great. They are super friendly and welcoming. Great little spot!
Dyker Beach Dog Run-Brooklyn
This dog run in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn is an awesome spot to bring your dog. It a very large dog run in Dyker Beach Park with plenty of space for your dog to run around. There are two separate sections for all dogs and small dogs. They have water stations with fresh water for the dogs
Dyker Heights Christmas Lights-Brooklyn
If you're looking for a fun dog friendly adventure this Christmas season, go check out the Dyker Heights Christmas lights! This neighborhood is South Brooklyn goes all out decorating their homes for Christmas and you and your dog can walk through the streets and admire all of the lights. It can get a little crowded at times to make sure to show up early in the evening right after sunset for the fewest crowds to make it easier to walk your dog through.
Skytown-Brooklyn
Skytown is an awesome little bar in Bushwick, Brooklyn located off the Myrtle/Broadway J/M/Z stop. It has great food options, a full bar and allows dogs inside as well as on their sidewalk seating. They have plenty of TVs playing whatever sports you want to watch and have great vibes overall.
Sirius Dog Run-Manhattan
Sirius Dog Run (aka Kowsky Dog Run) is a gorgeous dog run located at Kowsky Plaza. It is a small dog run but draws quite a crowd. It only has a single section but it has plenty of shade, a decent amount of space for running around, water bowls for dogs, and rolling concrete hills for running around on. It also has a pool that dogs can enjoy during warm weather.
Beckett's Bar & Grill-Manhattan
Beckett's Bar & Grill is an awesome sports pub in the Financial District of Manhattan that allows dogs on their covered outdoor street seating and indoors! Benji was welcomed inside. They have lots of bar food options, plenty of TVs around for watching sports and were a great place for all seasons and weather!
Tribeca Dog Run-Manhattan
This dog run is definitely not the flashiest but it is a nice space for dogs to be able to run off leash. It is just a single area of fenced in pavement but they are trying with a few nice amenities. It has a large tent up with plenty of shaded seating for pet parents. It also has a pool that can be filled with water in the summertime.
Secret Pour-Brooklyn
Secret Pour is an awesome little divey bar in Bushwick, Brooklyn right on Broadway off the Kosciusko J/Z stop. Dogs are allowed inside! It often has events like comedy nights, burlesque, and trivia night. They also have games like a pool table and arcade machine.
Governor's Island Winter Dog Days
Did you know that Governor's Island is dog friendly in the winter? From December 1 through April 30, 2024 (check the website once the 2025 dates are posted), every day of the week after 10am, dogs are allowed to enjoy the island! As long as you get on the ferry before 12:00pm, dogs can take a free ride to the ferry. Dogs must remain on the lower deck of the ferry. They can return on any ferry back, but must arrive before 12pm.
Two Hands-Manhattan
Two Hands is an Australian Cafe with a few locations around NYC. They also have some locations in other cities too. Their Tribeca location had a nice outdoor seating setup that was dog friendly. They serve a delicious brunch with some truly amazing food that is worth a little splurge.
