Callahan-Kelly Park Dog Run is one of Brooklyn’s newest dog runs just opened in August 2023. It is a beautiful dog run with two completely separate sections in the newly renovated Callahan-Kelly Park right by the Broadway Junction train station. The sides aren’t separated by small or large dogs, as they are similar in size.

For a good little dog friendly brunch spot, try Julia’s in Ridgewood, Queens! This was a great spot with dog friendly outdoor seating. It is also an all day cafe, so you can also get lunch or dinner there. They are definitely a popular spot and only have about 5 tables for outdoor seating so make sure you make a reservation so you don’t have to wait too long.

For a great Mexican with dog friendly outdoor seating, try Sonora. It is a great little spot with outdoor seating both against their restaurant and on the street. They have cute lights, bring treats and a bowl out for your dog and are so friendly.

Morningside Park Dog Run is an awesome natural dog run located in Morningside Park. It is expansive, beautiful and has some great features like two sections, a natural and wood chip surface, a lost and found and “free stuff” bin, picnic tables for relaxing and a hose and bowls for water.

Do you love nachos, margaritas, and amazing Cuban food? Then you need to try Havana Social on Stone Street in the Financial District of Manhattan. Havana Social is an awesome dog friendly spot that has tons of covered dog friendly outdoor seating and they were also welcoming for us to sit inside if we wanted as well!

Jemmy’s Dog Run is a dog run in Madison Square Park that was newly renovated as of August 2022 and has grown in popularity since then! The park is named after James "Jemmy" Madison and Madison Square Park claims that The Village Voice named the park as the #1 dog run in NYC (but I scoured the internet and couldn't find this article?).

For some beautiful views and some delicious wine while hanging out with your dog, try City Vineyards rooftop wine bar! With its amazing views of downtown Manhattan and the Hudson River, this spot is a great place to just hang out and enjoy some beautiful weather.

McGrowl-Lick Park Dog Run an awesome dog run located inside of McGolrick Park in South Greenpoint. Adorable name aside, this dog run is a great spot with two sections for small and all dogs, water bowls with hoses to fill them with fresh water, a pebble surface, and plenty of naturally shaded picnic tables for humans to relax while their dogs run around.

Haab is an awesome Mexican restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with a nice dog friendly covered outdoor seating area and some great food and margaritas! Unfortunately, their outdoor seating is definitely only 3 season as it is not heated but it is covered. We stopped by for brunch and their Mexican breakfast options were fantastic with large portions.

8-Bit Bites is a cool spot with a dog friendly, fully enclosed and air conditioned/heated outdoor seating shack! They also have regular outdoor seating to the side of the shack.

(Unfortunately, ever since NYC passed the law that restaurants have to remove their street seating, we aren't sure if this is going to stay past November or not. We will update either way.)

Sternberg Dog Run is located in Sternberg Park between the Broadway G stop and Lorimer J/M stop. It is a nice two section dog run for the area. While the google reviews for it are a bit hit or miss, when we visited, it seemed in decent condition.

Talon Bar is an awesome spot in Bushwick that has a huge covered patio that is dog friendly. The patio is open air in the summer and heated in the winter and so is perfect for all weather and seasons.

Black Forest Beer Garden has dog friendly sidewalk seating that is fully covered and heated so it is good on most weather including rainy days like when we went. They have a great selection of German beers and food options, or just order a pretzel and a beer for some light fare.

For a nice water front dog run with some summertime water features, try Pier 26 Dog Run aka Tribeca Dog Run. It isn’t too big but it has two sections, small dogs and all dogs, a water playground area (which was turned off when we were there even though it was a warm day?) and some big rocks for jumping on.

Bark in the Park at the @brooklyncyclones is an awesome thing to do with your dog during baseball season. They usually host a few dog friendly games a year.
