Triborough Bridge C Dog Run-Queens
Triborough Bridge C Dog Run is a dog park located under the Triborough Bridge on the outskirts of Astoria Park. This is a dog park that makes an excellent use of the space it was given. It has a concrete surface with tons of fun hills for the dogs to run around on and rocks for climbing.
Owl's Head Park Dog Run-Brooklyn
Owl’s Head Dog Park is a dog run located in Owl’s Head Park in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. This dog park is a decent size.
Bugsy's Dog Run-Queens
This is a small independently operated dog run located in Astoria, Queens in Astoria Park. It is not associated with NY Parks. It is a single section dog run located right along the East River. While it does have some of the most incredible views of any dog park we have been to in the city so far, it isn't the most up to date dog run. It only has a single gate, so if entering while other dogs are in the park, be sure to be extra careful so no one escapes.
Dyker Beach Dog Run-Brooklyn
This dog run in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn is an awesome spot to bring your dog. It a very large dog run in Dyker Beach Park with plenty of space for your dog to run around. There are two separate sections for all dogs and small dogs. They have water stations with fresh water for the dogs
Sirius Dog Run-Manhattan
Sirius Dog Run (aka Kowsky Dog Run) is a gorgeous dog run located at Kowsky Plaza. It is a small dog run but draws quite a crowd. It only has a single section but it has plenty of shade, a decent amount of space for running around, water bowls for dogs, and rolling concrete hills for running around on. It also has a pool that dogs can enjoy during warm weather.
Tribeca Dog Run-Manhattan
This dog run is definitely not the flashiest but it is a nice space for dogs to be able to run off leash. It is just a single area of fenced in pavement but they are trying with a few nice amenities. It has a large tent up with plenty of shaded seating for pet parents. It also has a pool that can be filled with water in the summertime.
Governor's Island Winter Dog Days
Did you know that Governor's Island is dog friendly in the winter? From December 1 through April 30, 2024 (check the website once the 2025 dates are posted), every day of the week after 10am, dogs are allowed to enjoy the island! As long as you get on the ferry before 12:00pm, dogs can take a free ride to the ferry. Dogs must remain on the lower deck of the ferry. They can return on any ferry back, but must arrive before 12pm.
North End Dog Run-Manhattan
North End dog run is a nice modern dog run located in Battery Park City, Manhattan. It is nestled in between two main roads which is a nice use of space that would have otherwise gone unused. It has two sections, for small and all dogs, but only a water station in the all dogs area. The all dogs section is nice and spacious and most people tend to stay in there. The surface is a concrete pavement, so no issues with paws getting hurt on gravel. It also has plenty of natural shade so no need to worry about it getting too hot.
Maria Hernandez Dog Run-Brooklyn
Maria Hernandez dog run is an excellent dog run in Bushwick's Maria Hernandez Park. It has two sections, for small dogs and all dogs. They have water fountains for humans and dogs on both sides as well as pergolas for shade with plenty of benches on both sides.
Hillside Dog Park-Brooklyn
Hillside Dog Park is the largest dog park in Brooklyn! Located in Brooklyn Heights, this dog run is 1.4 acres of massive natural woods. It is a great space to run around and also has a separate section for small dogs or dogs who just want a little privacy.
Herbert Von King Dog Run-Brooklyn
Located in the North-West corner of Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, this dog run is a great feature for the community. It is one of the only dog-runs in the area. It has been recently remodeled but is still working on solving some of its issues like its frequent flooding problem.
Marsha P. Johnson State Park Dog Run-Brooklyn
A decent sized, recently renovated dog run located near the entrance of Marsha P. Johnson State park, this dog park is worth a visit. It has two separate sections for large and small dogs, pergolas for shade, plenty of benches on both sides, and a unique dog waste composting collection site.
